Israel’s security establishment has revealed new weaponry that was most recently employed in the recent incursion into Gaza.
The weaponry was revealed by Israeli ground forces, and the most interesting item was the new robots used in urban warfare.
One of these is the “eye ball,” a camera installed in a ball thrown by combatants into houses to see whether they are booby-trapped or whether terrorists are hiding in them. The camera, which is controlled from afar, transmits to the combatants images of what is happening in the building.
Sources in the ground forces said that the camera was of great help to the soldiers and reduced the danger to their lives. It identified booby-trapped homes, and these homes were blown up from a distance without infantry troops entering them.
