The move of the US embassy to Jerusalem occurred in the context of a watered down Jerusalem Embassy Relocation Act from August 1995, which deleted any mention of Jerusalem as part of Israel, and which did not allow for Jerusalem to be exclusive to Israel as the only entity which would claim Jerusalem as its capital.
The proof of the pudding:
Do you have to register for a document for a death, birth, new passport, patent or any other official piece of paper from the new US embassy in Jerusalem?.
Go in the new US Embassy in Jerusalem and ask that “Jerusalem, Israel” be written on the document and see what happens and what the bureaucrat answers you.
