Members of the Center for Near East Policy Research will be briefing concerning the policies of The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), a United Nations agency which received over $400 million in American funding in 2014. The agency holds the sole mandate from the United Nations to provide education, health, relief, and social services to approximately five million registered Palestinian refugees residing in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, the West Bank, and Gaza.

CNEPR will present new findings on UNRWA’s most recent textbooks used in classrooms throughout the West Bank, traditionally venues to forward extreme narratives. Past reports can be found here .

  • Dr. Arnon Groiss: Deputy director of IBA’s Arabic radio, expert on Palestinian Authority textbooks, holding a PhD in Islamic Studies from Princeton University.
  • Jonathan D. Halevi: Senior researcher on the Middle East and Radical Islam at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs.
