To whom it may concern,
I would like to commend the Center for Near East Policy Research and its director, Mr. David Bedein, for their prolific investigative research concerning Israeli-Palestinian relations, emphasizing in particular the issues of education in the Palestinian Authority and the conduct of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).
The matter of education is an all too often neglected aspect of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Through a calculated campaign of indoctrination, misinformation and incitement, the Palestinian Authority has poisoned the minds of generations of Palestinian youth, thus imposing tremendous challenges to the prospects of achieving coexistence between Israeli and Palestinian societies.
UNRWA, by inculcating the ‘right of return’ as a cherished value among the Palestinian students studying in its schools and those residing in its camps, has contributed to a perpetuation of the conflict and a deepening of Palestinian hostility towards Israel.
The Center for Near East Policy Research has been diligent in surveying these harmful practices and in bringing them to the attention of decision makers in western capitals. In so doing, it has made an important contribution to encouraging educational reforms which are vital to fostering the conditions for peace.
