To fight what Pope Francis has called “World War III,” the ideological/theological battle being waged against non-Muslims and Muslims who compromise with them and to reach peace in the Middle East and in the World, several measures must be taken.

The Trump administration announced in April 2018 ((https://www.reuters.com/article/us-israel-palestinians-usa/as-trump-mideast-peace-plan-nears-completion-rollout-still-unclear-source-idUSKBN1HI311) that it had nearly completed its Israeli-Palestinian peace plan. Unless the president and his advisers realize that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has no intention of making even the slightest concession in a negotiated settlement, the whole endeavor will not only be a waste of time, but will lead to war. The decision of the Palestinians to plan protests against Trump’s peace plan will be a piecemeal. No one needs the best deal for the Palestinians and the Israeli Jews, we need peace.

The Oslo Accords, (https://history.state.gov/milestones/1993-2000/oslo), signed by the late PLO chairman Yasser Arafat, ostensibly paved the way for a “two-state solution,” but it was actually a trap – conceived by the Palestinian leader well beforehand – as part of a phased plan to erase Israel from the map. A plan adopted by the PNC in Cairo in 1974. The Oslo Agreements were almost identical to the formula Arafat intended years beforehand. To give more Land and/or to recognize a Palestinian state will not bring peace. 1,250 women, children, and men were killed and more that 8,000 were injured. Every time Israel gave land, Israelis were killed. The conflict is not a territorial conflict. It is a religious/theological conflict between the Muslim World and Israel that extended to the rest of the world.

It is time, therefore, for Europe and the United States to stop financing the Palestinian Authority (PA) – which, since its establishment, has been a criminal entity – until its leaders “confront all those engaged in terror, dismantle the Palestinian terrorist and capabilities, confiscate illegal weapons [and surrender them to Israel], combat corruption,” (S.C. Resolution 2334 (2016); http://www.un.org/webcast/pdfs/SRES2334-2016.pdf)),  stop anti-Israel and anti-Semitic incitement, introduce a new curriculum for peace and tolerance, stop financing prisoners and call for an end to Boycott Disinvestment and Sanctions (BDS) actions across the world. To prove an interest in genuine peace and security for all, the PA should be obligated to declare Hamas, Fatah, the Al-Aqsa Brigades, the Tanzim, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and similar groups as terrorist organizations, and it should take all measures to make Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) free of them.

Every European states and the U.S. must put an end to BDS, particularly in academia. Israeli Apartheid Week (http://campus.zoa.org/israel-apartheid-week/) should be banned as a threat to American security. The Justice Department should investigate flagrant civil rights violations and campaigns against pro-Israel Jews carried out by campus BDS groups (such as Students for Justice in Palestinehttps://www.ngo-monitor.org/topics/students-for-justice-in-palestine-sjp/)) and their faculty allies and enablers. The federal government and each individual state must stop funding institutions that directly or indirectly enable BDS groups to operate. A number of states already have passed such legislation (https://www.jpost.com/BDS-THREAT/Maryland-joins-nearly-half-of-American-states-with-anti-BDS-laws-508281). Washington must also question its European counterparts about their trade practices against Israel.

In addition, the governments must take action against Facebook, YouTube and other social media outlets, to stop their services to ISIS and Palestinian terrorist organizations, which use those platforms to promote incitement and recruit new members. These platforms carefully monitor and block child pornography, after all, so there is no reason for them not to be able to do the same when it comes to terrorism.

Meanwhile, to prove that it is really interested in promoting peace, the Trump administration should work hand-in-hand with Israel and the West to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure and Iranian missiles in Lebanon and Syria before they can be used, and to confront Hamas and its terrorist stranglehold on the Gaza Strip.

The Trump administration also should include current and previous members of the PLO, Fatah, the Muslim Brotherhood and the PA leadership on its list of “Specially Designated Global Terrorists,” (https://www.state.gov/j/ct/rls/other/des/122570. htm) until they renounce violence and officially recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state. The PLO and PA are in violation of all terms of their authorization to operate in America. Their U.S.-based offices, therefore, should be shut down.

The administration must also stop funding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), whose schools in Gaza and the West Bank educate Palestinian kids to hate Jews and Israel. Trump announced in January that he would be cutting a significant portion of its funding, but he should withhold all tax dollars until UNRWA introduces a curriculum for peace and tolerance, without any anti-Semitism.

Furthermore, he should demand that the UN put the Palestinian refugees under the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, so that they cease having a special designation and different rules (https://www.meforum.org/articles/2017/how-to-depoliticize-palestinian-refugee-status) from other refugees, such as those from Darfur and Syria. If the UN refuses, the administration should agree to finance only the refugees who “left their home during Israel’s War for Independence, by some estimates as few as 30,000 people.

There is no reason that Arabs who left Israel in 1948 and Judea and Samaria in 1967 should have more financial advantages and rights than other refugees in the world. It is a shame and an aberration. Jews who were chased (https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/12014/refugee-jews-morocco-palestinians-israel) from Arab states have never been treated refugees from generation to generation.

The Trump administration also should pressure Arab/Muslim states to stop using Agenda Item 7 https://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2017/03/268525.htm – whose very existence it opposes – against Israel at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

Together with Israel, the U.S. should begin to submit resolutions for violations of human rights against those states that continually submit and vote for anti-Israel resolutions. In fact, the administration should find a way to stop financing the UNHRC altogether, as it contains and espouses departments and organizations, such as the World Health Organization and Palestinian Day ceremonies, which foster incitement and political indictments (https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9655/un-israel-war) against Israel.

The U.S. and the four other permanent members of the UN Security Council (UNSC) – as well as all European states – should make their cooperation with the UNSC and the Muslim States conditional upon measures taken by the PA and Arab/Muslim states to combat what Pope Francis has called “World War III,” the ideological/theological battle being waged against non-Muslims (and Muslim “apostates”) in mosques, the media and academic and religious institutions. At an event at Al-Azhar University in Cairo in 2015, ahead of the Prophet Muhammad’s upcoming birthday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi declared:

It is inconceivable that the ideology we sanctify should make our entire nation a source of concern, danger, killing, and destruction all over the world. It is inconceivable that this ideology… I am referring not to “religion,” but to “ideology” – the body of ideas and texts that we have sanctified in the course of centuries, to the point that challenging them has become very difficult… It has reached the point that [this ideology] is hostile to the entire world. Is it conceivable that 1.6 billion [Muslims] would kill the world’s population of seven billion, so that they could live [on their own]? This is inconceivable… We need to revolutionize our religion… the Islamic nation is being torn apart, destroyed, and is heading to perdition. We ourselves are bringing it to perdition.” (https://www.memri.org/tv/egyptian-president-al-sisi-al-azhar-we-must-revolutionize-our-religion)

As stated in the Indonesian ANSOR Declaration on Humanitarian Islam’s Road Map (2017-22-05) it is time to address the “Rapidly Metastasizing Crisis in the Islamic World”:

It is false and counterproductive to claim that the actions of al-Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram and other such groups have nothing to do with Islam, or merely represent a perversion of Islamic teachings. They are, in fact, outgrowths of Wahhabism and other fundamentalist streams of Sunni Islam…” “Muslims face a choice between starkly different visions of the future. Will they strive to recreate the long-lost ideal of religious, political and territorial unity beneath the banner of a Caliphate…Or will they strive to develop a new religious sensibility that reflects the actual circumstances of our modern civilization, and contributes to the emergence of a truly just and harmonious world order, founded upon respect for the equal dignity and rights of every human being?” http://www.baytarrahmah.org/media/political-communiques/2017/ 20 17-22-05_Declaration-on-Humanitraian-Islam/2017-22-05_Ansor-Declaration-on-Humanitarian-Islam_info.pdf)

These words should serve as a warning and a guide to Muslims the world over, who need to undergo a deradicalization process similar to that which took place in Japan and Germany after World War II. (https://www.jstor.org/stable/10.7249/mg716cc.10?Seq=1#page_ scan_tab_contents)

As for North Korea and Iran, two major players in the current war: Although the future of the nuclear deal and the European negotiations with Tehran remains to be seen, the Trump administration has moved in the right direction to stop the Iranian Bomb and to try to prevent an Armageddon.  Kim Jon-un’s North Korea helped Syria and Libya to build nuclear centers. He is sharing missile and nuclear knowledge with Iran. Their endgame plan to intimidate and paralyze America is simple given the fact that the distance from Pyongyang to Los Angeles is the same as between Teheran and New York. North Korea will soon have ICBMs, and SLBMs, with devastating nuclear warheads and might blow up part of the region and the West Coast of the United States, just to show his strength and the failure of the Non-Proliferation Treaty whose failed objective was to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and weapons technology. The negotiations with Pyongyang might not bring a complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and we know that “If we obtain the destruction of the (weapons), we cannot destroy the knowledge, and if a state of tension is created, it would take very little time to rebuild the bombs.” (Alfred Kastler – 1996 Nobel Prize in Physics)

There is no substitute for victory against the forces of evil. The tragic experience of World War II has shown us the horrendous cost of a policy of peace at almost any price.

He is the author of The Middle East and World War III – Why No Peace?, with a Foreword by Colonel Richard Kemp, and co-author with Dr. Karin Calvo-Goller of The Salt Agreements, Content-Application-Verification. This book has been sent by the author to President Donald Trump, Mr. Jason Greenblatt, Mr. Jared Kushner, Amb. Nikky Haley and Amb. Daniel Friedman. In following the news, any reader will thus be able to see to what extent these public officials have acted on the book’s prescriptions. Today, the Trump administration halted US Funding to the PA until it stops paying stipends to terrorists and the families of slain attackers, has cut funding to UNRWA by half and begun fighting against BDS.
