A former chief of Israeli military intelligence has told the BBC that he expects Israel to strike Iran’s nuclear sites in one of its strikes against Iran.
“Not only do I expect this, but I also expect the international community to support us”, said Yossi Kuperwasser.
“Look at how weak Iran is without nuclear weapons,” added Kuperwasser, who was the head of intelligence for the Defense Forces.
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reported to have assured the US president that Israel will only target Iranian military infrastructure in response to Iran’s missile attack.
According to Kuperwasser, Israel will attack several times and will not stop with one attack. He emphasized that “we must make sure that the Americans know that we have taken into account their concerns about the large-scale war”. He added that the nuclear areas will be the target in the next rounds of attacks, if not in the first one.
