The Meir Amit Intelligence and Terror Information Center (ITIC) is an organization dedicated to the study of terrorist groups to better understand and prepare for a future terrorist attack.
The ITIC was founded over twenty years ago by Colonel (Ret.) Dr. Reuven Erlich who had a long and illustrious career dealing with the security of Israel. Erlich headed the ITIC until his sudden passing a week ago on January 29, 2021.
In memory of the late Reuven Erlich, founder of the Meir Amit Center:
“Peace-peace but there is no peace.”
This is a saying of the prophet Jeremiah, that correlates to the peace process with the Palestinian Liberation Organization in Judea, Samaria and Gaza.
On the day an agreement was signed between Israel and the PLO, the PLO instituted an education system that brainwashed the Palestinian public to continue a war against Israel in Judea & Samaria.
In September 1993, I was in the military reserve and received a memorandum from the army in the hopes for peace from the PLO.
This wish did not change after the 1993 agreements. I had long conversations about this with Aharon Yariv, one of the leaders of the intelligence system, who introduced me to the late Reuven Erlich, director of the Intelligence and Terrorism Information at the time.
I went to Washington in the spring of 2005 with three media experts to testify about the Palestinian Authority’s threatening educational system before the State House of Representatives in Washington and assisted people who had worked in the Civil Administration in the past.
We then discovered that the US administration had transferred huge sums of money to the Palestinian Authority without noticing that there was no encouragement for an actual peace-promoting process.
We purchased all the textbooks of the PLO and UNRWA, hired a professional team to take care of spreading the truth among the diplomatic community in Israel.
I was encouraged by Reuven to publish our findings in collaboration with and under the auspices of the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center because the findings indicated that the education system vehemently opposed the peace agreement.
Reuven was extremely sensitive to the blood libel remarks distributed by the PA and he was called to tell the world the truth about the aid of the State of Israel to the residents of Judea and Samaria and Gaza.
