Christian Journalist calls out State Department for funding terror via UNRWA

At a press conference on Monday, a correspondent for Christian media called out the State Department spokesman for funding UNRWA despite the organization enabling terrorism that results in Jewish deaths. In comparison, an Arab correspondent’s question led to a condemnation of Jews living in Judea and Samaria.

White House correspondent and Reporter for Intermountain Christian News, Dr. Anthony Harper,  confronted Matthew Miller, the State Department’s spokesperson, about funding from the United Nations Works and Relief Agency for Palestine (UNRWA) being used for establishing terrorist centers inside Israel.

“In light of UNRWA donors’ agency meetings at the UN, will the US ask the UN to inspect and disarm  UNRWA refugee camps that have become well-equipped arsenals?”

Miller seemed flustered and asked Dr. Harper to clarify where precisely these armed UNRWA camps were.Other correspondents prompter Miller, saying the reference was to the Middle East, as UNRWA operates exclusively in the region.

Travis King lands in US after North Korea expels him

“I will say,as we have said before, we have long recognized Israel’s right to defend itself and take actions to secure its territory,” Miller said.

Miller’s answer entirely ignore the question about UNRWA funding. The decision by the Biden administration to restore funding to UNRWA and the Palestinians Authority may violate the Taylor Force Act. A report in JNS earlier this year revealed that after the Biden administration reversed the previous administration’s 2019 cutoff of aid, the number of Israelis killed by terrorists rose from 3 in 2020 to 17 in 2021 and 31 in 2022. This shows a clear correlation between US funding and Jews murdered by Palestinian terrorists.

Dr. Harper asked as a follow-up question:

“Will the US challenge the official Palestinian school curriculum which rejects the two-state solution by teaching the next generation to reject any recognition of Israel?”

Miller again deflected and did not answer the question.

“I will say the we support the two-state solution. You’ve seen me asked about that on a number of occasions.  That will continue to be our policy, and that will be our policy as it pertains to anyone on either side of this longstanding conflict who wants to take a different position.”

Dr. Harper reiterated his first question, saying, “What about those well-equipped arsenals and the concerns that Israel has that are happening – that are occurring in the UN agency UNRWA camps?”

Miller reiterated his previous answer, saying, “Again, as I’ve said, we support Israel’s right to secure its nation.”

Dr. Harper’s criticism of UNRWA education is well-founded. Over half of UNRWA’s 2020 Program Budget of $806 million was earmarked for education.  A 42-page report from the NGO UN Watch exposed widespread and blatant antisemitism and incitement to terrorism propagated by UNRWA educators.

Established in 1949, UNRWA is the only UN agency dedicated to helping refugees from a specific region or conflict. Its definition of refugee is also unique and contradicts the definition used to guide other UN agencies, and includes  descendants of Palestine refugee males. Using this definition, UNRWA claims there are currently 5.8 million Palestinian refugees.  In 2018, a State Department report disclosed by the Washington Free Beacon recorded that around 20,000 of the original refugees are still alive today.

Miller’s deflection of Dr. Harper’s pointed questions stands in sharp contrast to his responses to  Said Arikat, the Washington Bureau chief for the Jerusalem-based newspaper Al-Quds, who openly slandered Israel and injected false information into his questions.

“You began by noting how Ukraine has inspired the world in fighting against an illegal military occupation,” Arikat began. “And I wonder if you think that the Palestinians ought to be so inspired as to fight an illegal occupation with the same kind of intensity and the same commitment, and, also, count on a limitless commitment of support by the United States and the rest of the world, as you stated.”

“We are firmly committed to a two-state solution, as we have spoken to a number of times,” Miller answered.

“But you said that Ukraine is inspiring the world, and the Palestinians have a right to be, as members of this world community, to be so inspired and fight the occupation, correct?” Irikat continued.

“We certainly take steps that would improve the dignity, the economic situation of the Palestinian people, as well as an ultimate two-state solution,” Miller said.

Irikat continued along another line.

“Yesterday, the Israeli occupation forces forced a Palestinian family to destroy her own home in East Jerusalem, with her children, and move out.  Do you have any comment on that?”

In his response, Miller criticized Israel for demolishing the illegally constructed buildings.

“It is critical, as we’ve said on a number of occasions, for Israel and the Palestinian Authority to refrain from unilateral steps that exacerbate tensions, and undercut efforts to advance a negotiated two-state solution.  And that certainly includes the practices of forced demolitions and evictions of families from homes in which they have lived for generations.”

The current administration has a double standard regarding construction. While turning a blind eye to illegal Arab construction including in Area C under Israeli supervision, the Biden administration has criticized Israel’s government for moves it sees as consolidating settlements and for “provocative” visits by some members of the government to the Temple Mount.

“Settlement expansion clearly presents an obstacle to the horizon of hope that we seek,”  Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in June.

Implement DeNazification on the Road to Peace

Date: Mon, Oct 2, 2023
For Publication: Implement DeNazification on the Road to Peace

Last week, three government officials from the Israel Ministry of Strategic Affairs met with four  researchers who have spent their careers studying different aspects of the strategic threat posed by UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency).

UNRWA oversees 59 refugee camps that comprise more than five million descendants of Arab refugees  relocated by the 1948 war.

What each of the researchers reported to the government was that UNRWA has s educated the next generation to blindly believe in a sacred “right of return” by force of arms to the very homes which they left back in ’48, homes that no longer exist, in villages that have since grown into Israeli cities, collective farms and woodlands.

After the experts had their say, they listened to passionate words of Rabbi Leo Dee, a British-born veteran of Israel peace advocacy, who in his work has

nurtured years of dialogue with Arabs.
The perspective of Rabbi Dee is unique.
On April 7 of this year, three “graduates”of UNRWA school educational system living in the UNRWA Askar refugee camp near Nablus murdered his wife Lucy and two daughters, Rina and Maia, in a drive by shooting on Road 90 in northern Israel.
At the funeral, Rabbi Dee asked aloud what would motivate three young people to conduct such a vile act of murder.

Rabbi Dee heard from generals and policy-makers that it was the fault of Iran which had dispatched killers to murder Jews at random.
Yet Rabbi Dee wondered aloud as he buried his beloved family members as to what was going on in the minds of these killers when they opened fire on his loved ones.
So we dispatched an Arab TV crew to find out.
What Rabbi Dee was shocked to discover was the candor with which the families of the killers spoke as the parents who spoke with pride in their sons’ willingness to kill Jews in order to achieve the right of return to villages that no longer exist.
This summer, our news and research agency dispatched TV crews to film UNRWA summer camps that were devoted to perpetuating a hero’s worship of the youthful Arabs who murdered the Dee family.

Our researchers, who have reviewed more than 1,000 Palestinian Authority texts used in UNRWA schools and produced more than twenty films shot on location in their schools, report that the “right of return by force of arms” has evolved into theme of UNRWA “education.”, instead of the PEACE BEGINS HERE, the theme of UN Education since the birth of the UN in 1945.
So far, no media outlet in Israel will publicize the message that UNRWA and the PA praise the cold-blooded murder of the family of Rabbi Dee, at a time when PA law allocates a salary or life for anyone who kills a Jew, or a salary for the family of the killer is the perpetrator becomes a “Shahid ” martyr.
Conclusion: in order to see peace in the next generation, Israel will have to insist on a policy of “Denazification” to cope with the lethal consequences of this bloodthirsty PLO curriculum that was introduced to a whole new generation on August 1, 2000.

That PLO curriculum is taught in tandem with the 1964 PLO charter, never canceled, and the Jihad declaration of total war by the Arab League against the nascent state of Israel. still in effect today, despite peace treaties with Jordan and with Egypt, and talk of normalization with Saudi Arabia, king pin of the Arab League.
While new Saudi texts respect for Jews and Judaism, yet allow Jihad against the state of Israel to continue in the schools.
Pay attention to e scholar Dr. Arnon Groiss, who has examined more than 1,000 texts of the PA used by UNRWA over the last 24 years, who warned officials of the Israel ministry of strategic affairs of the threat posed by UNRWA education, and, by extent, of Saudi education
• Palestinian Authority schoolbooks used by UNRWA feature three fundamentals, each of which stands in sharp contrast to the values of the United Nations:
1. Delegitimization of Israel’s existence and the Jews’ very presence in the country, which includes denial of their history and the existence of any Jewish holy places there.
2. Demonization of both Israel and Jews, with implications regarding the Jews’ image in the eyes of children who hail from a traditional society.
3. Incitement and the absence of a call for peace with Israel. Instead, there is a call for a violent struggle for the liberation of the whole count
By no coincidence, Saudi Arabia remains the seventh leading funder of the 1.6 billion dollar UNRWA budget, while UNRWA allocates 58% of its budget to such “education”

Strategic Affairs

Our center made a major presentation this week for three senior government officials from Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs.

David Bedein , our director, brought in four researchers who have spent their careers studying different aspects of the strategic threat posed by UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency).

UNRWA oversees 59 refugee camps that comprise more than five million descendants of Arab refugees who were relocated by the 1948 war.

These people’s families have educated the next generation to blindly believe in a sacred “right of return” by force of arms to the very homes which they left back in ’48, homes that no longer exist, in villages that have since grown into Israeli cities, farms and woodlands.

After the experts had their say, the government officials listaened to passionate words of Rabbi Leo Dee a British-born veteran of Israel peace advocacy, who in his work have nurtured years of dialogue with Arabs.

The current perspective of Rabbi Dee is unique. Three “graduates” of the UNRWA educational system living in the UNRWA Askar refugee camp near Nablus murdered his wife Lucy and two daughters, Rina and Maia, in a drive by shooting on April 7, 2023- barely six months ago

At the funeral, Rabbi Dee asked aloud what would motivate three young people to conduct such a vile act of murder.

https://web.archive.org/web/20230528165604/https://israelbehindthenews.com/2023/05/19/two-eulogies/

Rabbi Dee heard from generals and policy-makers that it was the fault of Iran which had dispatched killers to murder Jews at random.

However, Rabbi Dee wondered as he buried his beloved family members as to what was going on in the minds of these killers when they opened fire on his loved ones.

So we dispatched an Arab TV crew to find out. What Rabbi Dee was shocked to discover was the candor with which the families of the killers spoke , as they spoke with calm but obvious pride in the willingness of their sons’ to murder Jews in order to achieve the right of return to villages that no longer exist.

We next dispatched our TV crews to film UNRWA summer camps, camps that were devoted to perpetuating a hero’s worship of the youthful Arabs who murdered the Dee family. https://vimeo.com/856467890

After all, the right of return by force of arms represents the theme of UNRWA “education.”

So far, no media outlet in Israel or abroad has seen fit to publicize the message that UNRWA and the PA praise the cold-blooded murder of the family of Rabbi Dee.

For that reason, we are making special presentations of that movie at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center on Oct. 8th and 9th. In English and Hebrew, respectively. https://israelbehindthenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/unrwa.pdf

The conclusion: in order to achieve peace in the next generation, Israel will have to introduce a new policy of “Denazification” to cope with the lethal consequences of a PLO lethal curriculum that was introduced to a whole new generation on August 1, 2000.

As we approach Yom Kippur, I express appreciation for the support we have received to expose the lethal policies of UNRWA (United Nations Relief & Works Agency)

David Bedein
Director
Dear Friends, As we approach Yom Kippur, I express appreciation for the support we have received to expose the lethal policies of UNRWA (United Nations Relief & Works Agency) and to offer a positive approach for UNRWA policy change.

We have achieved a great deal this year, but much remains to be done.
To that end, as the New Year begins, we launch a renewed campaign for UNRWA policy change on at 8pm Israel on October 8 in English and Oct 9 at 1pm Israel time (in Hebrew), at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem.
Our efforts will focus on a core goal: to persuade UNRWA donors from around the world to aid
UNRWA only on condition that the organization ceases its systematic incitement
UNRWA funds should instead be earmarked to assist descendants of the Arab refugees from
1948, who dominate UNRWA, to leave the indignity of 59 refugee camp life, once and for all.
After thirty-seven years of producing documented evidence of UNRWA incitement, this marks
the first time that we work with someone whose family members were murdered in cold blood at
by the products of UNRWA “education” — Rabbi Leo Dee, whose beloved wife Lucy and
daughters Maia and Rina were slain by Arabs from the Askar UNRWA camp in a drive-by
shooting on April 7.
Our new movie will document how UNRWA embraces the murderers of his family, in
accordance with the Palestinian Authority law which provides an automatic salary for life for
anyone who kills a Jew, with a clause that provides lifetime payout for the family of the
murderer, if the killer dies as a Shahid (martyr).
The event will also feature the distinguished scholar Dr. Arnon Groiss , making a presentation on
his 25 years of research into UNRWA education.
Dr. Groiss has reviewed all 1,000 schoolbooks used by UNRWA and will discuss the current
state of UNRWA education.
The UNRWA embrace of those who kill Jews is played down by the media and not known to
UNRWA donor nations.
Our immediate task is to highlight current UNRWA policy and offer an alternative; a campaign
for an UNRWA PEACE INITIATVE
We invite you to the free events on October 8/9, to attend in person or view the livestream on
Zoom.

UFOs

According to Wikipedia, UFOs are “perceived aerial phenomenon that cannot be immediately identified or explained.”

There seems to have been an increasing number of such sightings in recent times, interestingly enough more in the USA than anywhere else. Most times they have become associated with various conspiracy theories involving aliens from other worlds scouting out earth in order to prepare for some sort of takeover.

Anyone cognizant with Jewish history and experiences over the millennia should instantly recognize the rather eerie resemblance.

Conspiracy allegations combined with casting Jews as alien beings were and to a certain extent still remain the standard rhetoric of the Jew haters.

As we transition from the old to the new Jewish year and prepare to spiritually stock take on Yom Kippur the opportunity to take on board the lessons of an increasing rise in enmity presents itself.

Unlike UFOs, the phenomenon of today’s mutation is easily identifiable and explained. The fact that far too many still cannot or refuse to make the connection is one of the major challenges to be faced in the year ahead.

Take for instance the recent confessions of Martin Indyk and Dennis Ross.

These two luminaries who are former Obama administration officials have suddenly had a revelation of Biblical proportions. Something occurred which caused a change in rhetoric after years of singing the praises of Oslo and a two State solution as well as lecturing and admonishing Israel as to what it should be doing. It’s always traumatic when your perceived best friend suddenly turns out to be a fake and even worse, is revealed as a two-faced double-crossing hypocrite. That is what happened after Abbas’s recent diatribe about Jews and the Shoah. After years of blind devotion towards someone who was and remains a fraudulent fake, who peddles conspiracy theories and purports to be an apostle of peace, the truth miraculously hit them full in the face.

Martin Indyk: “how could someone who has treated me as a personal friend for three decades at the same time harbor such hateful views of my people?”

Dennis Ross: “we were wrong on Arafat.”

Here we have, encapsulated by the plaintive reactions of two Jewish genetic Democrats and Obama groupies, the answer as to why over 70% of American Jews still support policies which if ever enacted would imperil Israel.

The blind devotion towards rewarding the latter day and fake Palestinians with any sort of independent country based on 1948 armistice lines continues to motivate US policies. Unlike Indyk and Ross, the current crop of US officials including Biden, Harris and her 2nd.”Gentleman,” Blinken and Lew (the proposed new US ambassador) remain firmly transfixed by the prospect of a democratic and peace loving Abbas and PA/PLO.

In a Rosh Hashanah message to Jewish Americans, Joe Biden assured them that he “has Israel’s back.” The fact that this piece of baloney was greeted with applause and adoration by most of the machers of the Jewish establishment and non Orthodox religious leadership speaks volumes. While at least Indyk and Ross may have seen the light it is obvious that nobody else in Washington has done so.

Can any rational person explain how Israel’s back is covered when those supposedly doing the covering are working feverishly to undermine its security and very existence?

How does sending money to a corrupt authority which can then be used to pay murderers of Israelis constitute having one’s back?

Since when did demonizing Jews who settle historical areas of Israel including its Capital qualify as having our back?

Continuing to embrace Holocaust distorters as legitimate peace partners is the opposite of having our back.

Most glaringly, paying ransom money of billions of dollars to one of the world’s worst sponsors of terror can hardly be described as having our back. Any person with a brain can predict that this money will be used to finance further terror and advance the moment when nuclear blackmail will kick in. The assurance given by the Biden Administration that these funds will only be used for “humanitarian” purposes is as useless as Indyk’s and Ross’s former embrace of Oslo and Abbas. The Iranian President has already stated that the money will “be used where we need it.”

The US Embassy in Israel hosted a pre-Rosh Hashanah reception.

This year the powers that be decided to boycott and disinvite Israel’s Finance Minister and Minister of Police/Security. Presumably this was done because Washington does not like the policies espoused by these two Coalition officials. One is left wondering why this double standard has not been called out by the media and Government spokespersons. By continuing to clasp Abbas and his inciting colleagues to their collective breasts, the US Administration once again displays an uncanny ability to punish alleged friends and reward blatant abusers.

Sending millions to UNRWA so that its schools can continue to inculcate the next generation with Jew hate is not exactly the sort of act one would expect from those professing undying friendship.

Rejoining UNESCO and being part of an organization which wipes out millennia of Jewish history cannot be construed as anything other than stabbing in the back.

On the anniversary of 9/11, the Israeli Prime Minister assured America “that Israel stands with the US against terrorism.” One has to wonder whether this declaration means anything practical. Given the litany of a continuing campaign aimed at weakening Israel’s ability to actually defeat terrorism what value does this have? All the military exercises and visits will be useless unless all those taking part actually front up when the curtain comes down. Selling the latest military hardware to Israel will be meaningless if others in the region, hardly friends of Israel, are enabled to acquire nuclear and other advanced technology. Russia, China and North Korea stand poised to support the haters of Israel knowing that the worst that can happen is a futile UN meeting.

The US is not alone in its dubious diplomatic duplicity.

Not to be outdone, the United Kingdom Foreign Secretary recently visited Israel and also made the expected pilgrimage to Ramallah to pay homage to the fake “dove of peace.” The subsequent script was entirely predictable and tantalizing nauseous. The FM oozed undying support to Israel and condemned the Shoah and antisemitic libels uttered by Abbas. With the mutual back slapping over, he then gladdened the hearts of the PA/PLO by stating that “only a two State solution could bring a sustainable peace.” Once again it seems a classic case of willful blindness in the face of stark reality prevails.

It gets better though.

Once safely back in the comfort of the UK foreign office the FM made it clear that the UK still refuses to designate the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization. In his own words, “this would not be in Britain’s interests.” A clearer example of duplicitous deception would be hard to find, made all the more transparent by his subsequent decision to designate the Wagner group as a terrorist entity.

Extraterrestrial UFOs may still be a mystery.

However, there is nothing mysterious about our local terrestrials whose increasingly obsessive fetish about Jews and the Jewish State dominates the world’s attention.

Discussions with delegates at the special session of the UNRWA donors conference at the UN: Sept 21, 2023

The Sept. 21 2023  session of the UNRWA Donors Conference coincided with the burial of six young people  killed by a molotov cocktail  that exploded  in their hands, as they rushed the Gaza fence… in a “right of return”  march led by counselors  from UNRWA schools in Gaza.

The context; the UNRWA school curriculum”which imbues UNRWA children with the doctrine of the ‘”right of return by force of arms” to villages that existed before 1948,

The responsibility of the 67 UNRWA donor nations and 33 relief agencies that donate a whopping $1.6 billion to UNRWA each year could not be more clear.

Do the UNRWA donors not have a responsibility to step in and intervene when UNRWA educators do not mince words in the protection of children from violence?

After a summer in which armed operatives of terrorist organizations used UNRWA schools as a base of operations during UNRWA summer camp activity , would it not be appropriate for UNRWA donors to demand that UNRWA conduct an arms inspection of all UNRWA facilities?

Now that UNRWA has reinstated a text book for the 4th grade which lauds Dalal E Mugrabi, a terrorist who led an lethal attack on a civilian bus in 1978, which resulted in the murder for more than 30 Jews , including 13 children, should the UNRWA donors not demand that such a text be removed from a UNITED NATIONS curriculum?

  • With vast amounts of funds handed to UNRWA food and medical supplies delivered in cash ,widespread reports allege that UNRWA donations wind up in the coffers of terror groups  and organized crime, has the time not come for donors to demand fundamental oversight of cash delivered to UNRWA for genuine humanitarian needs? Professional reports of UNRWA, as they appear at UNRWA.org, make no mention whatsoever of the necessity to account for massive  cash donations .
  • Will UNRWA donors look into allegations that UNRWA medical and food supplies are sold on the  open market?
  • Last but nor least, will UNRWA donors look into the full curriculum used by UNRWA. which is based on the directives of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, not on the philosophy of the United Nations, which is dedicated to unwavering principles of peace, harmony and reconciliation
  • In the words of the scholar Dr. Arnon Groiss, who has examined more than 1,000  texts of the PA used by UNRWA:
  • Palestinian Authority schoolbooks used by UNRWA feature three fundamentals, each of which stands in sharp contrast to  the values of the United Nations:
  1. Delegitimization of Israel’s existence and the Jews’ very presence in the country, which includes denial of their history and the existence of any Jewish holy places there.
  2. Demonization of both Israel and Jews, with implications regarding the Jews’ image in the eyes of children who hail from a traditional society.
  3. Incitement and the absence of a call for peace with Israel. Instead, there is a call for a violent struggle for the liberation of the whole country.
