This month (July 2018), the Palestinian Authority issues 30 new school books, to teach 11th and 12th grade students in the PA, Hamas, UNRWA and  Jerusalem Arab schools.

The Center for Near East Policy Research (CFNEPR) has hired a team of journalists to translate the newest Palestinian Authority high school textbooks into Hebrew &  English,  and present the results to the UN Secretary General as well as to the US Congress, the Canadian Parliament, the British Parliament, the Australian Parliament, the German Bundestag and the Swedish Parliament.

The Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center will again publish the CFNEPR study of the newest PA school books. Last year, CFNEPR conducted comprehensive translations and examinations of new Palestinian textbooks, published by the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center, with help from the Simon Wiesenthal Center.  CFNEPR  presented its  results to officials at the UN and in the US, Canada, Sweden and Israel.

The outcome:

Reassurances have now been received from donor nations that rigorous supervision of PA/UNRWA textbooks are in place. In a statement issued on July 5, 2018, CFID, the funding arm of the British government, stated that  “The UK government strongly condemns all forms of violence and incitement to violence. Our support to UNRWA is based on stringent attention to their neutrality and values of peace and the Agency meeting rigorous performance indicators. We have extensive precautions in place, including site visits, independent audits and financial monitoring”

What message will be conveyed by the newest Palestinian textbooks?  After they are translated, we will know.

Goal: To insist on peace education as a condition for aid to the PA and UNRWA.
