Dear Jean-Francois Lafleur,

Re: The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights should recommend that post-secondary institutions should allow for rebuttal of antisemitic discourse emanating from their platforms

The valedictory speech of Gem Newman on May 16th, 2024 at the convocation of the Medical College of the University of Manitoba provides an illustration, showing why the implementation of such a recommendation would be useful.  The typical valedictory speech reminds the students of their past years of study and welcomes them into the future for which their studies have prepared them.  This valedictory address instead engaged in a one-sided diatribe.

The speech itself was short.  Yet a text explaining everything that was wrong with it would be lengthy.

To take one example, in an excerpt from one sentence, the speaker asked the students in his audience “to stand in solidarity with Indigenous people everywhere  … in Palestine, where Israel’s deliberate targeting of hospitals and other civilian infrastructure has led to more than 35,000 deaths and widespread famine and disease.”  This excerpt is rife with inaccuracies.

For one, Jews are indigenous to Israel, living there since pre-historic times, centuries before the advent of Islam, with a continuous presence to the current day. To suggest that solidarity with the indigenous somehow favours Palestinians is a denial of reality.

For another, the existence of Palestine as a state is not recognized by the Government of Canada and 46 other states.  One could argue that Canada and other states should recognize Palestine.  However, to assume that this recognition already exists is inaccurate.

Third, Israel has not deliberately targeted hospitals and other civilian infrastructure.  What Israel has deliberately targeted is Hamas, because of its attack on Israel on October 7th, 2023, its murder of 1,139, its mass rapes during that attack and the kidnapping of over 240 hostages. The valedictory speech mentions none of this.

The reason that hospitals and other civilian infrastructure have suffered when Israel responded to the Hamas October 7th attack is entirely the fault of Hamas. At or near civilian infrastructures, Hamas stores and uses arms and rockets, runs command operations, mingles without uniforms with the civilian population, builds tunnels and tunnel entrances, uses civilians as human shields and threatens, exhorts and prevents civilians from fleeing when Israel warns of an impending attack, as Israel systematically does.

Fourth, the figure of more than 35,000 casualties the speaker mentioned is a Hamas Health Ministry clumsily concocted statistical fabrication.  The casualty figures, whatever they are, includes thousands of Hamas operatives, a number of which Hamas gives no indication.

Fifth, food insecurity exists in Gaza because of Hamas. Hamas diverts food aid to stockpile in its tunnels for its claimed plan of a next attack against Israel and to sell at exorbitant prices at local markets in order to raise money to buy more arms. Hamas threatens and kills anyone who tries to distribute aid directly rather than through Hamas channels.

Well, that was just one part of one sentence in the valedictory address.  There are many more sentences like that, stuffed with errors.

Aside from the specifics, there are two contextual factors which the speaker ignored.  One is that Hamas is not just a local Israeli problem. It is emblematic of a global problem, terrorism euphemistically disguised as Islamic fundamentalism, although there is nothing Islamic about mass killing of innocents, sexual atrocities and kidnappings.

This problem is particularly acute in the Middle East. Israel, by combating terrorism in Gaza, is doing a global service and a service in particular to those of its neighbours who have not already succumbed to the terrorist plague.

The second, linked, contextual factor is anti-Zionism, the refusal to accept the existence of a Jewish state.  With destruction of the Jewish state the end goal, terrorism and delegitimization through demonization work hand in hand.

Demonization is directed not just against the Jewish state but also against the Jewish people everywhere as actual or presumed supporters of this supposedly demon state. The result is that, with the Gaza war, attacks on Jews worldwide, including Canada, are at record levels, not just in comparison to past attacks on Jews, but in comparison to attacks on all other minority populations.

There is, regrettably, on social media an endless flow of ignorance, hate speech, misinformation and disinformation. The gullible repetition of terrorist antisemitic propaganda without fact checking has become commonplace. The valedictorian, by echoing the Hamas demonization of Israel, fuels their antisemitic narrative.

Yet a valedictorian is supposed to be a lead student in their graduating class, the best and the brightest.  The abuse of that position as a platform for prejudice by the current Medical Faculty valedictorian is not just a personal failing; it bespeaks and reflects a general degradation of university education and public discourse.

Winnipeg Friends of Israel wrote to the Dean of the College of Medicine on May 21st asking the College to send by e-mail to all those who attended the convocation and to post on the College website a rebuttal that the Winnipeg Friends of Israel would provide. To date there has been no reply.

We look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
David Matas

Explosion that killed 3 soldiers occurred in a medical clinic next to UNRWA school

In response to antitank fire from a UNRWA school at Israeli forces in Rafah, the 12th Brigade entered the compound, which also houses a mosque and a medical clinic.

While searching the area, an explosive device in a booby-trapped shaft which was in a civilian infirmary detonated next to the forces. As a result of the explosion, three soldiers from the 50th Nahal Battalion, Staff Sergeant Amir Galilove, Staff Sergeant Uri Bar-Or, and Staff Sergeant Ido Appel, were killed.

In addition, during the operation, the forces located many weapons, grenades, and enemy uniforms. Inside the school’s classrooms, the forces located shafts leading to a complex tunnel system.

In the incident, a combat officer and two other combat soldiers from the 50th Battalion were seriously injured. The officer and the soldiers were evacuated to receive medical treatment at a hospital and their families were informed of their injuries.

Following the deaths of the soldiers, without mentioning the explosion or the connection to UNRWA, the IDF spokesman announced the battalion went on a raid on a Hamas complex in eastern Rafah from where an anti-tank weapon had been fired at the forces. The complex where the raid occurred has a medical clinic near the school. The explosive detonated when the force entered one of the buildings which was booby-trapped.

Sandak case: Request for indictment cancellation on grounds of abuse of process

Ahuvia Sandak, z”l, was tragically killed in a police-car chase in December 2020. The police car collided with the car Sandak was in with four other boys, causing it to overturn. The boys have been indicted for various charges. Honenu Attorney David HaLevi, who is representing one of the boys, petitioned the Jerusalem Magistrates Court to cancel his indictment because of claims of abuse of process. The petition itemizes how the Yehuda and Shomron Police and the Police Investigation Unit corrupted the investigation of the incident and attempted to blame Sandak’s death on his friends.

Attorney HaLevi cited how the PIU and the police handled the investigation together, despite the inherent conflict of interest: The PIU is the authority responsible for investigating police officers. He further explained how the State Attorney and the Attorney General arrived at the scene of the incident to silence public rage over the cover-up of the failures in the investigation.

Attorney HaLevi: “This outrageous case should never have been opened, and now it should be closed. Therefore, we petitioned the court with a reasoned request to cancel the indictment because of abuse of process. I sincerely hope that the court will agree to our request and put an end to the very injustice of prosecuting my client.”

Ahuvia Sandak, z”l, was killed on 6 Tevet, 5781 (December 21, 2020). Honenu has been representing the family and defending the many who are detained while demonstrating for a change in police behavior. Please click here for a list of posts connected to the case.

DM signs five administrative orders on holiday eve

On April 28, Yehuda and Shomron Police officers detained five Yehuda and Shomron residents who took part in searches for Binyamin Ahimeir, Hy”d, who was murdered while grazing a flock of sheep near the Malachei HaShalom farm in the Binyamin region. Some of the detainees are married and have children. The youngest is a 16-year-old minor. Later in the day, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant signed administrative detention orders against all five residents. The orders are for three, four, and six months. Honenu Attorneys Adi Keidar, Daniel Shimshilashvili, Shalom Ben-Shabbat, and Nati Rom are representing the detainees. The previous week, in a 4:00 AM raid, police forces detained eight residents on similar suspicions. All of them were released several hours later.

Honenu Director Shmuel (Zangi) Meidad strongly criticized the orders: “The current Israeli government broke a historical record for serving Jews with administrative orders. And this is during one of the toughest wars Israel has fought. The deafening silence of politicians in the nationalist camp in response to Defense Minister Gallant’s irrational actions only serves to intensify this crime and sends a message to our haters all over the world who, in turn, want to put Minister Gallant himself under administrative detention. Where can we hide our shame?”

On May 9, the Israel Police informed the attorneys representing the Beit El resident detained one week earlier on suspicion of killing a Hamas activist that they would not appeal the decision of the Jerusalem Magistrates Court to release him to his home. Honenu engaged the services of Attorney Ariel Atari and Attorney Asaf Gonen to represent the detainee.

The Israel Police had requested a seven-day remand extension, and they asked the court to delay his release to give them time to appeal the decision.

Attorney Atari reacted to the decision saying: “The [Jerusalem] Magistrates Court ordered the release of the detainee and thereby expressed what we had claimed from the beginning: The Beit El resident suspected of killing a Hamas terrorist is innocent. We expect the GSS to do some soul-searching and direct their energy to interrogating Hamas terrorists, not innocent citizens.”

Attorney Gonen added, “As we claimed from the first moment, there is absolutely no evidential basis for the charges, and certainly not for detention. We thank the court for accepting our claims and exercising judicial review.”

Legal campaign for Israeli citizens under sanctions continues
In February, the governments of several countries, among them the US, the UK, France, and New Zealand imposed sanctions on several Jewish farm owners in Yehuda and Shomron based on claims that they had attacked Arabs. Subsequently, the bank accounts and credit cards of the farmers were frozen. Additionally, France and New Zealand announced that they would bar the entry of several dozen Yehuda and Shomron residents to their countries. In an effort to have the sanctions lifted, Attorney Nick Kaufman has been working on behalf of Honenu with the governments that imposed them.

Attorney Kaufman also wrote a letter to the Israeli Foreign Ministry asking how the government of Israel plans to react to the sanctions, which, in his opinion, are an attack on all Yehuda and Shomron residents. He stated that France and New Zealand did not cite names, and therefore the move is detrimental to all Yehuda and Shomron residents as in the event that they plan a trip, they will not know ahead of time whether or not their entry to those countries will be refused. Attorney Nick Kaufman requested the assistance of Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz in clarifying the identity of the Israeli citizens who are under sanctions.

The ministry replied that newly-appointed Foreign Minister Katz is studying the matter and will issue an appropriate response. Attorney Kaufman expressed satisfaction that the matter is being handled by the highest echelons of the government and hopes that Foreign Minister Katz and the National Security Council will raise the subject with their counterparts in New Zealand and France as soon as possible.

Electronic media as a weapon of political war: The Hamas strategy

Recently the role of the foreign media has been in the news. At the beginning of April, the government of Israel temporarily shut down Al-Jazeera and briefly suspended the activity of AP, which had been providing it with live feed.

According to Communications Minister Shlomo Karchi, there was an issue of security with the live broadcast of troop deployments. Advocates for the network argued in favor of the “essential role that journalism plays in a democracy.” At the same time, transmitting live information from the battlefield may have dangerous consequences which the other side can use advantageously.
General Vo Nguyen Giap who led the forces of North Vietnam to victory manipulated Western news media in a manner that turned the freedom and vulnerability of an open democratic society to his advantage. He adeptly utilized the medium of television (with the aid of eager American helpers) in order to undermine domestic American support for the Vietnam War.
General Giap said: “In 1968 I realized that I could not defeat 500,000 American troops who were deployed in Vietnam. I could not defeat the Seventh Fleet, with its hundreds of aircraft, but I could bring pictures home to the Americans which would cause them to want to stop the war.”
In June 1989, American historian William M. Hammond published an article, “The Press in Vietnam as an Agent of Defeat.” He quoted General Westmoreland who stated in 1972 that “modern technology provided the press a means of indirectly involving the American public with the war on an almost hourly basis.” It revealed the naked uncensored truth regarding war to the American public.
In time, the cumulative pressure of anti-war protests, fed by television news from Vietnam, became a major domestic issue which destabilized the American government. In 1972, Henry Kissinger told Soviet Ambassador Anatoly Dobrynin that “…For us it [Vietnam] isn’t just an international problem; it has now become a major domestic problem. We cannot permit our domestic structure to be constantly tormented by this country ten thousand miles away….”
If one looks at the larger picture, the effect of electronic media coverage is tremendously important in undermining the domestic support of one’s adversary. It represents a type of outflanking operation, and the experience of the American anti-war protests in 1968 shows that it has been formidably effective.
As we face the reality of 2024, it is easy to recognize how the enemies of Israel and the United States are using the same “indirect strategy” which the North Vietnamese employed in the sixties and early seventies. It does not require a great leap of imagination to understand how this game is played.
In fact, with internet and social media, it has become more sophisticated. The basic goal of the war against Israel involves divorcing it from its traditional hinterland (and the Diaspora communities), which have been among the sources of its support. In addition, Breitbart reported on May 17, that Republican Senator Ted Cruz declared that “the Biden administration must investigate reports of Communist China and Cuba directly funding and influencing radical left-wing organizations to incite anti-Israel and anti-American protests across the U.S.” Cruz noted that “the goal of such externally funded subversion campaigns is to create chaos, weaken the country, and ‘tear us apart.’”
In simple language, the United States, in its own right, has become a target of the same type of strategy which for years the enemies of Israel have used against its spirit of national unity and resilience which have been its strength.

Open Letter to Israel President Isaac Herzog

As the President of Israel, you envision an era of “normalization” with Saudi Arabia That would sit well with Israel.

However, “normalization” does not exist in law or diplomacy.

Saudi Arabia, kingpin of the Arab League of Nations, has led an active state of war on Zionism since the first day of Israel’s creation in 1948, in accordance with the charter of the Arab League of Nations, which promotes the liquidation of the Jews in Palestine.

The same goes for the Saudi proxy, the Palestine Liberation Organization, the PLO, which in 1964 issued a charter for the annihilation of the Jews of Palestine, a charter which was supposed to have been cancelled at the outset of the Middle East peace process in 1993 – but was not.

In the normalization, will you ask the Saudis to take the following steps?

  1. Cancellation of the state of war with Israel
  2. Directing Saudi-funded UNRWA education to encourage peace education by removing Palestinian texts and teachers who continue to preach war against Jews. The PA schools feature a 4thgrade textbook dedicated to the legacy of Dalal Al-Mughrabi, a woman terrorist who commandeered a bus and murdered more than 30 passengers, including 13 children.
  3. Removal the PA war curriculum

https://israelbehindthenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/2024-unrwa-education-curriculum-upate.pdf.

  1. Directing Saudi funds for UNRWA to settle descendants of Arab refugees from the 1948 war, who now dwell in 59 “temporary” UN refugee camps under the pretense of the “right of return” to a pre-1948 that no longer exists. At this point in time, the Palestinian Authority instils in the minds of every child that their only future lies in villages which were left in 1948.

  1. Demanding the repeal of the PA law which provides a salary for life for anyone who murders a Jew. This is a legalized incentive to murder.

https://jcpa.org/paying-salaries-terrorists-contradicts-palestinian-vows-peaceful-intentions/

  1. Will the Saudis ask the PA to remove new PA maps which obliterate Israel? A policy of normalization would present UN maps which portray all UN members in good standing, including Israel.

https://israelbehindthenews.com/2022/09/24/revealing-maps-the-palestinian-vision-as-taught-in-unrwa-schools/

  1. Will Saudi aid to Middle East Studies programs at universities around the world now require the removal of curricula which denies the Jewish connection to the land of Israel?

In short, do you believe that Saudi normalization must remove the vestiges of war from Saudi policy?

The international community wants to make Netanyahu the new Dreyfus

The International Criminal Court went a long way towards delegitimizing the entire international community when it issued arrest warrants for both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas’s monstrous chief Yahya Sinwar. This was not only an appalling moral equivalence between the two leaders, but between Israel and Hamas as well.

In its total moral bankruptcy and institutional corruption, the ICC only contributed to the long-standing and ongoing disintegration of an international community that claims to uphold the values of human rights and democracy. The ICC’s decision morally demolishes the U.N., of which the ICC is a child. It does little good to the E.U., which is a close relative of the U.N. In effect, the international community’s moral credibility has committed suicide.

No one with any common sense will ever again accept the legitimacy of the ICC. Millions now disdain an institution that believes the genocidal massacre of Oct. 7 was as legitimate as Israel’s fulfillment of its duty to defend its people. They see that Israel is doing everything it can to avoid civilian casualties and facilitate humanitarian aid. They also see that this counts for nothing with a corrupt international establishment.

Millions know that Hamas is a monster that subjects the society it rules to the law of terror. They know Hamas wants to slaughter all of world Jewry because of Hamas’s fanatical religious hate. They also know that Israel is the modern manifestation of the civilization that gave birth to the West’s Judeo-Christian tradition; that Israel rose from the Holocaust against all odds and built a nation that benefits the world.

Ironically, the ICC’s nihilistic equation of Israel and Hamas came shortly after the death of one of the primary supporters of the Gaza monster: President Ebrahim Raisi of Iran. Thanks to this coincidence, we saw the international community’s moral corruption in full. It rushed to offer weeping condolences for the “Butcher of Tehran” who killed, tortured and oppressed tens of thousands of Iranian women, dissidents and homosexuals. The glorious democracies of Russia, China, Pakistan and Lebanon all but erected mourning tents for the fiend and the E.U. cried bitter tears.

Many of the same nations have expressed their adoration of the ICC’s demented persecution of the Jewish state. Fortunately, U.S. President Joe Biden had the good sense to call the ICC’s decision “outrageous.” Even Secretary Antony Blinken of the notoriously anti-Israel State Department denounced it. To its credit, Germany did so as well.

Many of the haters, of course, are driven by their membership in the international establishment. Benjamin Netanyahu is not and does not want to be a member of this clique, and rightfully so. So, they hate Netanyahu. They hate that he keeps winning elections and hate that he wants to win the war against Hamas. They hate that he ignores their shrieking denunciations and continues to fight. He shows their essential impotence and they can’t stand it.

They are likely aware of the fact that this is unjust. Perhaps they even unconsciously admire Netanyahu. After all, he is a democratically elected leader, which the snobs of the ICC are not. He has always led his people as they want him to: in a besieged but heroic manner. Netanyahu represents a people with 3,000 years of history that has survived all the ancient empires that have passed into nothingness, as today’s international elite someday will as well.

Sinwar, in contrast, is a serial killer, a terrorist, a child murderer, a rapist and an oppressor of his own people. To equate him with Netanyahu is like the neo-Nazis who claim the bombing of Dresden was worse than Auschwitz. But today’s neo-Nazis wrap themselves in the cloak of anti-racism and human rights. They declare that the rest of us are colonialists, racists and oppressors.

In the name of this dark religion, they want Netanyahu to be the sacrificial lamb, an offering to the gods of human rights and the demons of antisemitism. They want him to be the new Dreyfus. Fortunately, this is impossible, because Netanyahu and his people have an army. The haters may not like this, but there is nothing they can do about it. No wonder they hate us so much.

Pride and Prejudice

Why, despite all its many years of miraculous achievements, is Israel fighting a seemingly losing battle for world public opinion?

Critics tend to blame inept public relations efforts and ineffective spokespersons but while some of these excuses may be valid there are in reality more profound and fundamental reasons involved.

During my sixty or so years of involvement with “hasbara” presenting Israel’s case to an uninformed general public in New Zealand and latterly in Israel to a wider audience, I have learnt a thing or two about the challenges being faced.

While the ability of the speaker, diplomatic representative or PR person to articulate the situation is critical, all their finest efforts can be easily nullified when faced with a wall of blank minds susceptible to being seduced by each and every revisionist historical agenda.

No amount of common sense and logic can overcome brainwashed Individuals and groups especially those already seduced by lies and conspiracy theories. Add in the toxic ramblings of a biased and partial media and you can discern why and how the campaign to disseminate facts and truths about Israel becomes an uphill battle.

One of Israel’s most brilliant articulators was Abba Eban, who dazzled his audiences with erudite oratory and delivered an impeccable British upper-class accent. His description of the 1967 armistice lines which the rest of the world still believe are holy borders remains a classic. He described them as the “Auschwitz borders” to which Israel must never return. Given today’s rampant Holocaust denial and revisionist rhetoric it is obvious that not one proponent of “Palestine” on those borders has a clue what Eban was referring to. If the Shoah is fading from the minds of most of the international community the implications of such boundaries is obviously also completely absent.

This one example should offer a clue as to why no amount of brilliant oratory and well-articulated logic can ever hope to penetrate the closed minds of a UN membership firmly entrenched in the grip of an anti-Israel lynch mob.

The best indication of how the UN has sunk to the murky swamp of moral degeneracy is provided by the spectacle of UN Security Council members standing in solemn tribute to the deceased Iranian President and Foreign Minister. Think about it for a moment. The Iranian regime makes no secret of its ambition to annihilate Israel. Its President was responsible for the murder and persecution of countless Iranian men and women who dared voice opposition to the regime. Yet despite these facts the UN Security Council pays tribute to the late “butcher of Tehran” and his willing accomplices.

As though this hypocritical spectacle was not revolting enough the US representative also joined in the show of sympathy and the State Department issued a statement of regret at their passing. A subsequent clarification that the late President “had blood on his hands” merely confirms Washington’s pathetic attempts to cover up a duplicitous diplomatic charade.

Israel’s representative got it right when he asked whether the Security Council would also have stood in silent tribute when Hitler died. The UN’s appalling antics combined with those of the Human Rights Council and International Criminal Court highlight the impossibility of Israel ever winning a PR battle especially when most of the media muddy the truth with their tendentious reporting.

Right on cue the Chairman of the IAEA who recently lamented Iranian deception in its nuclear ambitions also issued condolences and requested a minute’s silence in memory of Iran’s President. Everyone knows that the Iranian leadership is lying about its nuclear intentions yet when one of the chief liars meets an unexpected end those tasked with impeding this genocidal plan stand in tribute to his memory.

One of the biggest mistakes in the PR war has been a refusal to rebut on a daily basis right from the very outset all the lies and mistruths propagated by the haters and deniers. Left unchallenged, these distortions have been allowed to fester and multiply and become accepted as revealed truths from on high.

Between 1948 and 1967 Israel should have raised hell about the illegal Jordanian occupation of Jerusalem and the denial of Jewish access to the Kotel, Rachel’s Tomb and the Cave of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs in Hebron. The daily targeting of Israeli civilians in Jerusalem by Jordanian soldiers should have resulted in dire consequences. Every opportunity should have been taken to underline the illegal Jordanian occupation of Judea and Samaria and the temporary nature of the armistice lines. A refusal to hold the UN accountable for this disgraceful situation has now resulted in the lies becoming accepted as facts.

Even today when the likes of Jordan talk about the Temple Mount so called “status quo” and illegal settlements our spokespeople remain silent.  The end result is toxic whether it is a case of not wanting to upset the Hashemite Kingdom, make non politically correct waves or a belief that ignoring the daily incitement will make it go away.

That is why the UN and all the anti-Israel ignorant masses, together with an equally brain-dead media, have successfully swallowed the fictions of 1967 “boundaries,” an invented Palestine with Islamic roots back to the Canaanites, colonialist Jews with no history in Israel, and other similar make-believe assertions.

Trying to belatedly counter these fables is an almost lost cause. Perhaps the time has come to finally bid farewell to this farce of an organization and expel its representatives and repossess the prime real estate it occupies in Jerusalem. It might be time to bail out from this corrupt body before it experiences the same “hard landing” which destroyed the Iranian helicopter and its ill-fated predecessor, the League of Nations.

We haven’t helped our case by succumbing to leftist hallucinations such as the Oslo fiasco when our deluded leaders invited Arafat and his gangs back to establish a terror entity right in our back yard. This act of immense folly signaled to the world that we were prepared to cohabitate with the haters and it set the scene for subsequent disasters.

Surely, some may lament, the world must be able to recognize the fantastic discoveries and contributions of Israeli researchers and scientists to humanity over the years.

Logic would dictate that this would be the case. Unfortunately, over two thousand years of illogical hate towards Jews and Judaism has become so embedded that despite our so called more enlightened and tolerant times the ancient plague still survives and flourishes.

The invaluable contributions made by generations of Jewish citizens in Europe did not save them from expulsions, pogroms and ghettos. The finest and most brilliant minds ended up in Auschwitz and other camps while a few lucky individuals such as Albert Einstein found refuge in the USA or UK.

The stark reality is that irrational Jew hate is so embedded that it has now mutated into hate for everything associated with the Jewish State.

Even in places where no Jews officially live, such as in North Korea, or where ideology precludes recognizing Judaism as a valid faith, such as in China, the virus of anti-Israel phobia flourishes.

It is important to understand these realities when considering how best to fight back and respond.

There has always been a difference of opinion between those who advocate an almost invisible profile with discreet negotiations versus those who recognize that this sort of backroom anonymity has failed not only in the past but also at present. The UK Mosley black shirt mobs in the 1930s were only stopped when the Jews and working classes of the East End of London physically confronted them.

The outnumbered and outgunned Jews of Mandated Palestine only succeeded in avoiding a 7 October type massacre by defeating the Arab forces which aimed to abort Jewish sovereignty in 1948.

Jew haters are confounded and recoil when Jews actually fight back against their oppressors. That explains why the UN cannot ever reconcile itself to this fact. It follows therefore that in any PR campaign you must never apologize for Israel defending its citizens against rockets, terror and threats of annihilation.

In the face of the most vicious and outrageous lies do not retreat into shocked silence and hope that by not responding it will all blow over. All this achieves is for the lies to germinate in the fetid minds of the public and gain legitimacy. We see how this has already happened with the labels of “apartheid” and “colonialist settlers”, just two examples of how the Josef Goebbels technique works.

Do not respond with meaningless politically correct mumbling. It doesn’t work. When your MP or party leader makes pathetically erroneous statements do not pull any punches in replying. Forget about diplomatic schmaltz but rather expose their ignorant or ill-informed rhetoric with some hard-hitting facts and realities.

Above all, be realistic and acknowledge that most closed minds can never be prized open. When faced with ignoramuses claiming the most absurd things, respond with cynically clever humour to expose their absurdities.  Claims that Jews have no historical connection to Israel or that Palestine should be free from the river to the sea and LGBT people loving Hamas are just some classic examples. It is a proven fact that these people have no sense of humour which is why Israeli cartoonists and actors have gone viral and hit back in a most effective manner.

Be proactive and innovative and above all never let the deniers and delegitimizers go unchallenged.

This is neither a game of cricket nor are we required to adhere to the Queensberry rules.

IDF Startling Drone Footage ‘Exposes’ Hamas-UNRWA Collaboration, Demands UN Investigation

The Israeli Defence Forces revealed a crazy drone footage of armed Hamas militants next to UN vehicles at an UNRWA compound in eastern Rafah. The drone footage shows three armed militants roaming and were spotted by Givati Brigade troops on Saturday. IDF claimed that in one clip a gunman opened fire inside the UNRWA complex. The Israeli Forces urged the United Nations to investigate the connection between UNRWA’s logistics centres and Hamas operatives.
